PUNE: Maharashtra XI eves won a hard-fought final to lift the 3rd SNBP Women's State-level Women's Championship title at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi Pune, on Monday.

In an evenly contested final, Maharashtra XI registered a solitary (1-0) win over Khelo India Centre, Kolhapur. The all-important goal was scored in the first half by Shalani Shakure (18th) which remained till the end.

Later, in the third-place match, Nashik Academy downed SNBP Academy 2-0. The winners settled the issue in the first quarter with Vaishnavi Bhoite scoring a brace of goals – her first in the 7th minute and then added another three minutes later (10th) minute. The 2-0 advantage remained as the scoreline at the end of the game.

The winners pocketed the top prize of Rs 50,000 for their effort.

The prizes were given away at the hands of Dr. Dhanraj Pillay Padmashree, in the presence of Dr. Vrishali Bhosale, President SNBP Group of Institutes; Adv. Rutuja Bhosale, Director SNBP Group; Firoz Shaikh, Tournament Convener and Vibhakar Telore, Organising Secretary.
