PUNE: Asian Games medallist and Kolhapur-based Rahi Sarnobat of Maharashtra bagged the 25m air pistol gold medal in the National Shooting Championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi.

In the team event, Maharashtra claimed the silver medal

For Rahi, the win was special as it was her third National medal in a row and thus a 'hat-trick' of victories.

The talented shooter from Maharashtra earned 37 points in the final round and in the process put aside the young and in-form shooters in her category.

Fourteen-year-old Namya Kapoor won silver logging 31 points. Namya recently emerged winner in the World Junior Championships.

The bronze was claimed by Manu Bhakar (27 points).

Layer, Manu was in for a surprise. In the junior section, she finished second to had Namya Cooper. Ain the final of the junior 25m pistol Manu lost 4-5 in the shoot-out. Isha Singh had to settle for bronze.

In the senior team event, Maharashtra comprising of Rahi Sarnobat, Abhijna Patil and Shivani Satav finished second behind Haryana (Hidam Sangwan, Manu, Tejaswini) who won gold.

Telangana (Isha Singh, Divya Kurakula, Jabili Gangapatnam) settled for the bronze.
