PUNE: Muriel Adam of the Pune District has been named captain of the 20-member Maharashtra (WIFA) team that will compete in the Senior Women's National Football Championship 2021-22, which will be held in Kozhikode, Kerala.

Goalkeeper Anjali Barke, striker Aishwarya Jagtap and manager Sana Shaikh are the other three representations from the Pune district in the team.

Maharashtra is grouped with Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim in Group E

Daryl Samuel (Mumbai) has been appointed the head coach, while Sana Shaikh (Pune) and Sayali Shinde (Thane) will join the team as manager and physiotherapist, respectively.
