PUNE: Finally, when the action took stage it was not a great day in office for Maharashtra.

In a high-scoring encounter, Maharashtra was done in by Mumbai by 5-wickets in a Round IV - Elite Group C, Men's U25 State A Trophy, 23 at the Just Cricket ground Bangalore.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's entertaining century proved to be the highlight and a virtual game-changer.

Chasing Maharashtra's 252/8 in a match reduced to 36 overs, Yashasvi hit 119 from 89 balls with 10 fours and six sixes as Mumbai cruised to victory in the 35th over.

Yashasvi was supported by Sairaj Patil (62; 54b, 3x4, 4x6), with the duo adding 106 runs for the fourth wicket.

Earlier, opener Pawan Shah (65; 67b) and Siddhesh Veer (76; 72b) added 92 runs for the third wicket to help Maharashtra post a challenging total after losing the toss.

Mumbai earned 4 points for their win, while Maharashtra got none.

The win propelled Mumbai to the top spot in the group with an all-win record and 8 points in their bag after 2 matches.

Maharashtra occupy the fourth position with 2 points earned from their opener against Tripura which was abandoned.
