PUNE: Finally, Maharashtra got onto the ground to play! Having spent their time indoors thrice due to rain, Maharashtra and Andhra ended up with a no result in Round IV - Elite Group D, Women's Under 19 One Day Trophy 2020-21, at the C K Pithawala Ground, Surat.

On the brighter side, Maharashtra batters flexed themselves after Andhra put them in. In the abridged innings they played, Maharashtra was cut short by rain with the total reading 177/4 off 38 overs.

From a scorecard that read 3/1, after opener Shewta Sawant lasted 3 balls and walked for a ‘duck’, to the posting 177/4 the innings was built by Ishwari Savkar. The opener stood tall to compile 86 (118 balls), which included ten 4’s and one 6!

Ishwari, almost, lasted the whole innings, was the last wicket to fall in the 37.5 overs before the over was completed and the heavens opened.

Apart from Ishwari, wicketkeeper Ambika Watade (39) played a great support role in building the total.

Both teams were awarded 2 point each for the no-result. Maharashtra now has 8 points.
